In 2015 Uwe Oberg & Silvia Sauer started poaching on the gardens of songs, first unplugged, now also electronically. They operate with song-structures, but in an entirely unique way.

Silvia Sauer from Mainz is an excellent vocal artist, the description singer falls much too short. She uses a huge sound palette, by means of electronic manipulation she brings her voice in stunning sound spheres - singing, whispering, screaming...
Wiesbaden pianist Uwe Oberg plays beside acoustic piano (also with preparations) digital keyboard and looper.
Sauer sings, Oberg plays piano, but the result is much more than that: a sumptuous musical tableau. With their rich experience with film- and theatreprojects they create visually stunning and associative sonorities. Minimalistic patterns stand beside fierce cascades, poetic lyricism flood into lush maze, songs sink into knee-deep loops.

In winter 2018 / spring 2019 Oberg & Sauer took on the musical part for KINO VARIETÉ RHEIN-MAIN. They composed & performed original music for silent films and played contemporary interpretations of songs from the 1930ies. These big shows include silent films, juggling, songs and acrobatics. Many performances in the Rhein-Main-aera. Sponsored by Kulturfonds Frankfurt.

ABOUT SILVIA SAUER & UWE OBERG:

The Mainz vocal artist Silvia Sauer is a dedicated commuter between gengres and musical stiles. Her roots are in Jazz and free improvisation. She blends them expressively with vocal techniques of the world and a sense for humor.
With the Metropolis-Projekt, that has specialized in setting silents to music, she has toured all around the world. With the duo "stimmig" she has been prizewinner of "Creole - Weltmusik aus Hessen".
Currently she's working in different settings of improvised music, a.o. with drummer Wolfgang Schliemann, also with the vocal-theatre- project "die Qsinen" with Daniela Daub.

Uwe Oberg *1962, piano since 1970, member of the Kooperative New Jazz (ARTist) Wiesbaden, active since the early 80ies in various fields from conceptual Jazz/New Music to free improvisation, performances with dance/theatre/lyrics, music for silent movies, HumaNoise Congress, cooperation with international musicians: Alfred Harth, Tony Oxley, Peter Kowald, Urs Leimgruber, Saadet Türköz, Heinz Sauer, Subroto Roy Chowdhury, Xu Fengxia, Sven-Ake Johansson, Evan Parker, Eric Plandé, Paul Rogers a.m.o.
He leads the trio LACY POOL (w Rudi Mahall & Michael Griener) playing exclusively the music of Steve Lacy. Also he plays in various improvising ensembles, with Silke Eberhard & Gerry Hemingway, or with Frank Paul Schubert.
